The Seattle Mariners enter this interleague series against the Baltimore Orioles with a 35-32 record, three games better than their hosts at 31-36, after taking the opener 6-3 on the strength of Josh Naylor’s grand slam and a five-run fifth inning at Camden Yards. Seattle’s recent form includes winning 10 of its last 13 games, while Baltimore has dropped three straight and sits near the bottom of the AL East. The four-game set features back-to-back contests in Baltimore before the clubs meet again in Seattle the following week, with both clubs eyeing wild-card positioning and divisional gaps that remain fluid through the middle of June. Key lineup adjustments, such as Cole Young batting leadoff for the injured J.P. Crawford, add variables to an otherwise evenly matched pitching matchup in the middle games.
