This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed movie is ranked in the Top 5 of Google’s official Year in Search Global "Movies" list for 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." The specified list is expected to be displayed on the Google Trends Year in Search hub, with location selected to Global. The navigation procedure as of market creation involves going to trends.withgoogle.com/year-in-search/ and clicking through Global → Trending → Movies. The 2026 page is expected to appear using the same navigation once released (as the 2025 page currently shows the specified ranking). This market will resolve based on the specified list regardless of navigation procedure. This market may resolve as soon as the specified list for 2026 is released. If Google does not release the specified list by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market will be the specified list as published by Google.Major studio blockbusters and high-profile franchises are shaping trader focus for the 2026 global top five most searched movies on Google, driven by sustained pre-release hype, trailer drops, and post-release discussion around titles like The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Avengers: Doomsday. Christopher Nolan’s epic and the return of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man generated early search spikes following their summer releases, while Robert Downey Jr.’s villain turn in the December Avengers film is expected to fuel late-year surges typical of MCU tentpoles. Animated sequels such as Toy Story 5, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and Shrek 5 add family-friendly volume, and current chart leaders like Obsession highlight how mid-year originals can briefly dominate before franchise momentum takes over. Key catalysts ahead include Avengers marketing peaks and year-end Google Year in Search data.
