Cardi B and Kehlani’s “Safe” has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the 2026 VMA Best Hip-Hop category, with market-implied odds reflecting strong trader consensus around its fan-voting momentum and broad appeal. The six-nominee field, announced in mid-August, features a competitive lineup including Tyler, the Creator’s “Sugar on My Tongue,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Lover Girl,” Drake’s “Janice STFU,” Travis Scott’s “Dumbo,” and Don Toliver’s “E85,” but none have matched “Safe” in recent streaming traction or social engagement. With fan voting closing September 25 ahead of the September 27 ceremony hosted by Snoop Dogg at the Peacock Theater, any late shifts in public sentiment or promotional pushes could still influence the outcome, though the current positioning favors the Atlantic Records collaboration.
