Spain and France, the co-favorites entering the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bring strong recent form and defensive organization that support trader consensus around a 74% implied probability for an unbeaten champion. Spain’s 34-match unbeaten streak, including a recent friendly draw, highlights squad depth suited to the expanded 48-team format’s longer group stage and five knockout rounds. Elite sides benefit from favorable early matchups against lesser opposition, squad rotation options, and historical precedent where top contenders rarely drop points en route to the title. Potential late-tournament fatigue or an upset in the knockout stages remains the primary risk priced into the No outcome.
