The WSOP Player of the Year race remains exceptionally tight because Shaun Deeb, William Foxen, and Naoya Kihara sit within 29 points of one another atop the official leaderboard after the completed Las Vegas and Europe legs, with only a player’s top 15 results counting. Deeb seized the narrow lead at 3,410 points by capturing a late bracelet in the $1,500 8-Game Mix, while Foxen and Kihara each posted multiple final tables and cashes in high-buy-in events that kept them within striking distance at 3,381 and 3,388 points. Trader consensus reflects this narrow gap and the sizable point swings still possible in the December WSOP Paradise series, where strong finishes by any of the top contenders or deep runs from players like Michael Mizrachi or Nicholas Schulman could reorder the standings before resolution.
