The Toronto Blue Jays enter their upcoming series against the New York Yankees mired in a sluggish start marked by an unusually high number of players on the injured list, including key contributors sidelined with elbow and hamstring issues. This has left Toronto at 18-23 and fourth in the AL East, well behind the Yankees' 26-16 mark in second place. New York has maintained steady production from its core lineup while benefiting from stronger recent results against divisional opponents. The Blue Jays' pitching staff and offense have yet to find consistent rhythm after a disappointing April and early May, creating a matchup where the home team's depth and health advantages figure prominently in shaping the competitive landscape.
