Arthur Gea, ranked No. 86 and fresh off an ATP title at Los Cabos in early August plus straight-sets qualifying wins over Sumit Nagal and Clément Chidekh, faces No. 163 Nishesh Basavareddy in the US Open qualifying final for a main-draw berth on outdoor hard courts. Both 21-year-olds meet for the first time; Gea holds the higher ranking and recent title pedigree with strong hard-court results, while Basavareddy, a former top-100 player, arrives with momentum from straight-sets and three-set qualifying victories over Moise Kouame and Luka Mikrut. Surface records, serve-return efficiency in pressure situations, and fatigue from longer prior matches shape the competitive balance in this high-stakes qualifier.
