The 2026 Big 12 passing yards race remains wide open early in the season, with trader consensus reflecting parity among more than a dozen viable candidates. High quarterback turnover via the transfer portal has produced a crowded field of new starters and transfers—including Drew Mestemaker at Oklahoma State, Devon Dampier at Utah, Noah Fifita at Arizona, Bear Bachmeier at BYU, Avery Johnson at Kansas State, and Conner Weigman at Houston—none of whom enter with a clear statistical edge from prior conference play. Early team passing numbers show Arizona State, Baylor, and Utah atop the charts through two weeks, yet individual outputs remain bunched amid varying offensive schemes, defensive matchups, and limited sample sizes. Depth of talent, comparable experience levels, and the long regular-season schedule keep implied probabilities tightly clustered.
