Arsenal enter the 2026-27 Premier League as reigning champions with the division’s strongest recent defensive foundation, having conceded the fewest goals and kept 19 clean sheets in 2025-26 under Mikel Arteta’s organized high press and backline anchored by William Saliba and Gabriel. This track record, combined with goalkeeper David Raya’s consistency and midfield protection from Declan Rice, underpins trader consensus around their 71.5% implied probability for the most clean sheets. Early-season absences for Saliba and Jurrien Timber have raised short-term questions after porous pre-season results, yet depth options and recent Community Shield dominance reinforce expectations of sustained low goals conceded. Other sides, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Aston Villa, trail due to less proven defensive cohesion or greater squad turnover, leaving realistic but lower scope for them to lead in clean sheets over a full campaign.
