Terry McLaurin’s 2026 season ended prematurely after he suffered a torn left patellar tendon in Week 6 against the 49ers, underwent surgery, and was placed on injured reserve. The 31-year-old Commanders wideout finished with 15 receptions for 230 yards and one touchdown across five games, well below his 2024 pace of 1,096 yards in 17 contests and his 2025 output of 582 yards in 10 games hampered by a prior quad issue. Washington’s offense, led by quarterback Jayden Daniels, has shifted targets to Stefon Diggs and emerging options such as Antonio Williams and Treylon Burks. McLaurin’s three-year, $97 million extension carries sizable future cap hits, raising the possibility of a post-season release or restructure that could further limit his 2027 opportunities. These factors have shaped trader views around a sharply reduced seasonal total.
