Carlos Alcaraz remains sidelined with a right wrist injury sustained in April at the Barcelona Open, having missed the French Open and Wimbledon while withdrawing from the Cincinnati Masters to prioritize recovery. The defending champion is officially entered for the US Open main draw beginning August 30, and recent reports note he has resumed hitting sessions in earnest, positioning the hard-court Grand Slam as his targeted return. Limited match play raises questions about five-set readiness on a fast surface, yet trader consensus at 61% for participation reflects the absence of withdrawal announcements and the Spaniard’s history of aggressive scheduling when fit. Recent form offers no direct insight due to the extended absence, with any late scratches or fitness updates likely to shift implied probabilities ahead of the tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz is considered to have "played" if he takes the court and play begins in any of his main-draw singles matches. Being entered in the draw, or an opponent's retirement or walkover before any play begins, does not by itself count as having played. If Alcaraz begins a match and then retires or is defaulted, this market will resolve "Yes."
If the tournament is postponed beyond September 27, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or canceled before Alcaraz plays a main-draw singles match, this market will resolve "No."
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the US Open (usopen.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
