Belgium enters the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group G as the clear market leader due to superior squad depth, recent friendly wins including a 2-0 result over Croatia and 5-0 against Tunisia, and the presence of experienced stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois, and Romelu Lukaku under coach Rudi Garcia. Egypt sits second, buoyed by Mohamed Salah’s influence and an unbeaten CAF qualifying campaign plus a 0-0 draw with Spain in warm-ups, positioning them for a competitive edge over mid-tier opponents. Iran’s chances reflect a solid defensive approach but are tempered by extensive travel and a relocated training base in Tijuana amid external factors, while New Zealand trails significantly given limited depth and historical results against stronger sides. These implied probabilities align with pre-tournament form, head-to-head trends, and roster quality across the group stage fixtures beginning June 15.
