This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player takes the field as a member of Japan's official starting lineup for the first group stage game the nation plays at 2026 FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If a player is officially announced as part of the starting lineup but is replaced before the game begins for any reason, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". Only players that are on the pitch at kick off will be counted toward a "Yes" resolution. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed after June 29, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the listed player cannot be confirmed as a part of Japan's official 1st match starting lineup for the 2026 FIFA World Cup within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from FIFA (https://www.fifa.com/), however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Japan's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, announced in mid-May by coach Hajime Moriyasu, features strong European-based depth with inclusions like Wataru Endo, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Ko Itakura despite prior injury concerns, while notable absences include injured attackers Kaoru Mitoma and Takumi Minamino. Trader sentiment for starting XI markets centers on confirmed squad status, recent friendlies showing tactical preferences for a compact midfield anchored by players like Kaishu Sano or Ao Tanaka, and positional battles among attackers such as Takefusa Kubo, Ritsu Doan, and Ayase Ueda. Late developments, including Endo's international retirement due to ongoing injury just before the tournament, have shifted expectations toward alternatives in central areas, while group-stage fixtures against the Netherlands, Sweden, and Tunisia will test lineup stability. Official pre-match announcements, fitness reports from the expanded 48-team format, and Moriyasu's history of rewarding consistent performers remain the primary variables traders monitor.
