The WSOP Player of the Year race remains exceptionally tight at the top after the Las Vegas series concluded in July, with Shaun Deeb holding a slim points lead at 3,410 over Naoya Kihara (3,388) and William Foxen (3,381). Deeb’s consistency—including a mixed-game bracelet and multiple deep runs—has kept him in front, while Foxen’s earlier bracelet win and final-table volume and Kihara’s strong finishes have maintained the three-way battle within 29 points. The expanded format counting results from WSOP Europe, Las Vegas, and the upcoming WSOP Paradise in December, combined with the top-15 scores rule, amplifies the impact of any strong Paradise performances and sustains the close trader consensus reflected in current implied probabilities.
