Jeong Moon holds a 1-0 head-to-head advantage over Honori Koyama, winning their lone prior meeting 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 on outdoor hard courts at W15 Sapporo last June, bolstering trader sentiment toward the higher-ranked South Korean at WTA No. 1070 with a 10-8 record this year. Koyama, WTA No. 1289 and 6-5 in 2026, gains home-court edge in Japan and fresh momentum from a straight-sets victory over Koharu Niimi earlier this week in ITF W15 Toyama qualifiers. Both players show solid hard-court experience, with clear weather in Toyama minimizing disruptions; no injuries reported ahead of their round-of-32 clash on outdoor hard.
