New Jersey 5s and St. Louis Shock enter Match 2 of the best-of-three MLP Finals tied at one win apiece after the 5s rallied from a 2-0 deficit in Match 1 via mixed doubles victories and a DreamBreaker comeback. The regular-season series stands even at 2-2, with each side claiming a sweep and the other two matches decided by narrow margins or DreamBreakers. Both rosters feature elite talent—New Jersey anchored by Anna Leigh Waters and recent addition Federico Staksrud alongside Jorja Johnson, while St. Louis relies on Anna Bright, Kate Fahey, Hayden Patriquin, and Gabe Tardio—creating balanced depth across women’s, men’s, and mixed doubles. Trader consensus at 50% reflects this parity, recent playoff sweeps by both teams, and the 5s’ home-team edge in the first two matches at Central Park. Outcomes could shift on doubles-specific execution, sustained form from star pairings, or any late roster adjustments, given the format’s emphasis on multiple game types.
