Yulia Putintseva brings substantial clay-court experience and a career win rate above 57 percent on the surface against Antonia Ruzic, who has posted only a modest 25 percent success rate at WTA level on clay this season. Ruzic enters after a first-round exit to Mirra Andreeva in Rome and a mixed run through lower-tier events, while Putintseva has shown steady form with multiple three-set victories in recent weeks. Both players hold comparable rankings near the top 80, but Putintseva’s head-to-head edge in longer rallies and defensive consistency on slow clay courts shapes trader expectations for the Strasbourg qualifying opener. Schedule congestion after the European clay swing and any late fitness updates could still tilt the outcome.
