Schmigadoon! leads the Best Book of a Musical market at 46% implied probability following its May 5 Tony nominations announcement and 12 total nods, reflecting strong trader confidence in Cinco Paul’s inventive score and book that parodies classic musical theater tropes while delivering emotional depth. The Lost Boys and Titaníque trail closely at 23.5% and 24.9% due to their respective spectacle-driven storytelling and irreverent Céline Dion parody appeal, both backed by solid critical buzz since opening. Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) sits at 5.3% amid its intimate, lower-profile campaign. With the June 7 ceremony approaching, upcoming guild and critics’ awards will likely sharpen momentum for these four contenders in a category shaped by original narrative strength over established IP.
