This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Starcloud’s November 2025 launch of a single NVIDIA H100 GPU that trained a small language model and ran Gemini inference in orbit remains the only demonstrated orbital AI compute to date, falling well short of the 100-accelerator threshold used by markets. Major players including SpaceX (FCC filing for up to one million AI1 satellites targeting 2028+), Google (Project Suncatcher prototypes with TPUs slated for early 2027 via Planet Labs), and Blue Origin (Project Sunrise filing) have outlined large-scale constellations leveraging continuous solar power, but all remain in the regulatory and engineering phase with pending approvals and no qualifying launches. Starcloud plans a multi-GPU follow-on satellite for October 2026, while NVIDIA’s space-rated chips and falling launch costs via Starship are cited as enabling factors; however, radiation hardening, inter-satellite links, and manufacturing scale continue to push credible first deployments toward 2027 or later.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
