The September 10 announcement of the five CMA Musician of the Year nominees has shaped trader sentiment, creating a tight race among established session players ahead of the November 18 ceremony. Charlie Worsham, the 2024 winner and recent Grand Ole Opry inductee, leads at 35% on the strength of his versatile guitar work and high-profile touring, while Paul Franklin (2025 winner) and Rob McNelley sit near 28-29% reflecting their decades of steel-guitar and guitar credits. Jenee Fleenor (19.5%), a three-time prior recipient, and Tom Bukovac (7.5%) round out the field, with instrument-specific voter preferences and recent session momentum serving as key swing factors in this historically unpredictable category.
