A cold front advancing across southeastern Brazil is the dominant driver behind market-implied odds favoring a 15–17°C maximum in São Paulo on September 6, with 16°C leading at 34.5% implied probability. Southerly flow behind the front is advecting cooler, moist air that increases cloud cover and precipitation, limiting daytime solar heating and keeping surface temperatures well below early-September climatological averages near 22–24°C. Official guidance from INMET and ensemble model runs show highs clustered in the 13–16°C range under persistent overcast and rain, though minor differences in frontal timing or residual mixing could push the daily peak toward 17–18°C. Traders are weighting these near-term forecast details heavily ahead of the final observational data from Congonhas or official stations used for market resolution.
