Ksenia Krupenina, the 19-year-old Russian, faces 28-year-old Elina Nepliy in a first-round ITF W35 Mohammedia singles match on outdoor clay. Krupenina has shown flashes of form in recent weeks with multiple wins on the surface but carries a lower ranking and far less professional experience. Nepliy arrives with stronger recent results in North African ITF events, including solid performances in both singles and doubles during the Casablanca-Mohammedia swing, plus greater physical maturity and match toughness. The clay surface rewards consistent baseline play and movement, areas where Nepliy’s extra years on the tour typically provide an edge, though late scratches, fatigue from the schedule, or unforced errors on slower courts remain variables that can shift outcomes in these low-tier events.
