Kyler Murray's selection as the Vikings' starting quarterback creates the central variable for Justin Jefferson's 2026 target volume and reception total. After a 2025 season limited to 84 catches amid inconsistent quarterback play, Jefferson enters the year healthy and positioned as the clear top option in Kevin O'Connell's offense, which has incorporated more shotgun and quick-game concepts to suit Murray's mobility and timing. Recent joint practices and camp work have shown growing chemistry between the pair, including several highlight connections, though full synchronization remains a work in progress after split first-team reps earlier in camp. Jefferson's elite route-running and contested-catch ability historically translate to heavy target shares when paired with a capable starter, supporting expectations for a rebound toward or above 100 receptions if the passing game stabilizes and the offensive line holds up.
