Recent results underscore this parity: Hans Niemann claimed the September 1 edition after a strong finish, Jan-Krzysztof Duda notched multiple 2026 victories including August 25, while Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Arjun Erigaisi, Denis Lazavik, and others have posted outright or near-wins across summer events. Nakamura’s consistent high-level play in related online formats and Carlsen’s ongoing activity in team and Esports World Cup settings add further balance.
