The 21-year-old German grandmaster's consistent results against elite opposition, including draws with top players and a plus score so far, have boosted his edge over a deep field. Jorden van Foreest, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, Wesley So, Anish Giri, Fabiano Caruana, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave sit in a tight 11.5–15.5% range, driven by their high FIDE ratings above 2717, prior Grand Chess Tour experience, and mixed early results that leave the outcome open with six rounds remaining. Lower-probability names like Javokhir Sindarov and Alireza Firouzja trail due to slower starts, while local wildcard Bogdan-Daniel Deac remains a long shot.
