This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Benito Juárez International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 23 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=mmmx To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Persistent cloud cover, widespread showers, and northerly flow are keeping daytime heating limited in Mexico City ahead of August 23.** Official and ensemble forecasts from sources such as the Met Office, Yr, and regional models indicate a high most likely between 19–22 °C under mostly overcast skies and a 70–90 % chance of rain or thunderstorms throughout the day. Light northerly winds and high relative humidity further suppress the diurnal temperature rise at the city’s ~2,240 m elevation. This aligns with trader consensus reflected in the market-implied odds, where 22 °C leads at 31 % followed closely by 21 °C at 24 %. The narrow spread between these outcomes stems from typical model differences in the exact timing and intensity of convective activity: earlier or heavier rain can cap the peak a degree lower by reducing insolation, while a brief clearing window before afternoon storms could allow a slightly higher maximum. Historical climatology for late August shows average highs near 23 °C, but the current wet pattern has produced cooler daily maxima in recent days, supporting the market’s tight clustering around 21–22 °C. Updated model runs and official briefings the morning of August 23 will provide the final observational constraints before resolution.
