Soto's elite plate discipline and career-long ability to work deep counts continue to anchor trader expectations for him finishing the 2026 season with more walks than Judge. Through roughly 50-60 games, Soto has posted a higher walk rate per plate appearance despite a brief early IL stint, while Judge's power-oriented approach has produced strong totals but fewer free passes relative to opportunities. Soto's consistent on-base profile, even after returning to the Mets lineup, reinforces the market's view that his selectivity will compound over a full schedule, outpacing Judge's Yankees production amid varying lineup protection and opposing pitching strategies.
