As a left-handed DH with a high slugging rate and history of clutch hitting, Alvarez draws frequent intentional passes in high-leverage spots, extending his advantage in the season-long total. Nick Kurtz of the Athletics ranks among the next tier due to his emerging power profile as a young first baseman, while Ohtani's strong overall numbers keep him in contention despite trailing significantly. No major roster or injury shifts have altered the hierarchy in recent weeks, with Alvarez's pace reflecting the wisdom of crowds in current pricing.
