Power hitters in the middle of potent lineups continue to draw the most free passes when opposing managers elect to pitch around them in high-leverage spots, a pattern that favors Alvarez’s disciplined approach in Houston and Kurtz’s early production with the Athletics. With the top tier separated by just a handful of IBB and more than half the season remaining, small differences in plate appearances, lineup protection, and late-inning strategy keep the field tightly bunched in trader pricing.
