This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus on Polymarket's MLB Outstanding Designated Hitter Award reflects early-season volatility, with Shohei Ohtani and Yordan Alvarez tied at 19.5% implied probability ahead of Kyle Schwarber's 15.0%, underscoring a tightly contested race among power hitters. Schwarber leads MLB with 17 home runs—including a recent tear of four straight games with long balls—despite a .226 batting average and .963 OPS ranking seventh, fueling his surge via elite slugging. Ohtani, rebounding from a mid-April slump and shoulder soreness that limited DH at-bats amid pitching duties, boasts strong wRC+ and pedigree as a repeat winner. Alvarez's red-hot start with high OPS+ keeps him elite, while the crowded field below highlights the long season's uncertainty in plate appearances, injuries, and sustained production.
