Both Australian players reached the SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters quarterfinals with dramatic upsets on opening night, leveling expectations for their all-Aussie clash. Raymond Smith defeated Stephen Bunting 6-2 with strong finishing, while Adam Leek survived six match darts to edge Ross Smith in a last-leg decider on his World Series debut. Smith brings greater domestic title experience and ANZ Premier League success, yet Leek’s recent PDC tour card and momentum from the shock victory create parity. The even implied probability reflects similar current form, regional familiarity, and the best-of-11 format’s volatility, where one hot streak or checkout run could quickly shift sentiment.
