Washington Nationals and New York Yankees remain tightly bunched atop MLB team home run totals near 182 and 173 respectively as of late August 2026, with Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, and Chicago White Sox clustered just behind. Strong individual power outputs from Nationals hitters like Wood and Abrams, combined with Yankees contributions from Rice and recent surges from clubs such as the Cubs and Orioles, have sustained momentum swings. Late-season schedule factors, injury recoveries, and bullpen depth continue to influence daily totals, preserving narrow gaps that reflect the wisdom of crowds in the current pricing.
