Kai Havertz enters the 2026 World Cup as Germany's leading striker candidate under Julian Nagelsmann despite a turbulent club season marked by multiple injuries, including a lengthy knee issue that limited him to roughly a dozen Arsenal appearances. Recent warm-up matches have shown positive signs, with Havertz scoring in friendlies against the USA and Ghana while demonstrating improved movement and finishing when fit. His versatility in linking play with creators like Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala positions him to receive service in a 4-2-3-1 setup, though lingering fitness questions and competition for minutes could cap his goal tally. Germany's group-stage opponents and potential knockout progression will further influence his opportunities.
