Patrick Mahomes leads trader consensus at 63% implied probability to start Week 1 for the Chiefs, buoyed by recent positive rehab updates from GM Brett Veach and Andy Reid amid his ACL tear recovery from late 2025, though the 8-12 month timeline leaves Week 1 availability uncertain ahead of the MNF opener versus the Broncos. Elevated odds for veterans Joe Flacco (44%), Justin Fields (43%), and Gardner Minshew (38%) stem from the Chiefs lacking any confirmed backup QB under contract for 2026 following Mahomes' February salary cap restructure that freed $43 million but highlighted roster gaps. Practice squad holdover Chris Oladokun trails at 22%, reflecting his unproven status as traders price in potential free agency insurance signings and injury contingencies.

If the Chiefs do not name a single player as the starting quarterback, the market will resolve based on the player who takes the most snaps at quarterback during their first offensive drive of the game. If multiple players take the same number of snaps on the Chiefs’ first offensive drive, the market will resolve to the player who took the first snap at quarterback.
This market may not resolve before the start of the Chiefs’ Week 1 regular season game.
The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the NFL (NFL.com); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
