The Big 12 passing touchdowns race remains tightly bunched in the early 2026 season because the conference features an unusually deep and balanced group of starting quarterbacks, including transfers like Drew Mestemaker at Oklahoma State and Alonza Barnett III at UCF alongside returning standouts such as Bear Bachmeier at BYU, Noah Fifita at Arizona, and Devon Dampier at Utah. Early statistical leaders like Cutter Boley at Arizona State have posted strong single-game outputs, yet most contenders operate in offenses with comparable volume and efficiency, while injuries to players like DJ Lagway and Barnett add further uncertainty. Trader consensus prices reflect this parity, with no single signal-caller holding a decisive edge in projected passing production or team success through the remainder of the schedule.
