Multiple programs enter the 2026 season with comparable defensive talent and experience, leaving trader consensus tightly clustered among Ohio State, Oregon, Texas Tech, Indiana, and several others. Notre Dame, Georgia, and Oklahoma return core starters and coordinators who produced elite efficiency marks last year, while Ohio State and Oregon benefit from overall roster depth and recent recruiting. Texas Tech and Indiana feature returning sack leaders and versatile linebackers that project as breakout contributors. With no team holding a decisive edge in preseason metrics or personnel losses, the wide distribution of implied probabilities underscores how interchangeable the top units remain heading into camp.
