Incumbent Željka Cvijanović holds a commanding lead in the October 4, 2026, Bosnian general election for the Serb seat on the tripartite Presidency because voters in Republika Srpska favor the ruling SNSD party’s organizational strength and continuity. Her position strengthened after ally Siniša Karan’s narrow February 2026 victory in the Republika Srpska presidential rerun, which confirmed SNSD dominance despite Milorad Dodik’s earlier removal from office. Opposition candidates—including Nebojša Vukanović, who announced his bid in early May, Banja Luka mayor Draško Stanivuković, SDS figure Branko Blanuša, and Karan himself—remain divided, with no unified challenge or recent polling shifts to alter the race. Cvijanović’s recent diplomatic engagements have further underscored her institutional role ahead of the vote.
