The NFC South's overall parity and modest projected win totals for both clubs underpin trader consensus favoring a split in the two-game series. Atlanta and Tampa Bay each opened 2026 at 0-1 amid a division viewed as the league's weakest, with the Falcons installing Kevin Stefanski and navigating Tua Tagovailoa's injury history against Michael Penix Jr., while the Buccaneers adjusted to new offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and the absence of Mike Evans. Baker Mayfield's contract situation adds motivation but also uncertainty. These comparable profiles, combined with recent roster turnover and limited head-to-head history in the current cycle, have elevated the implied probability of a tie well above either outright winner.
