Big Tobacco has already secured dominant positions in the nicotine pouch category through major acquisitions, with Philip Morris International controlling Zyn via its Swedish Match purchase and Altria owning On!, while British American Tobacco holds Velo. This consolidation has fueled rapid category growth, as evidenced by Altria’s nationwide rollout of On! Plus varieties and PMI’s heavy factory investments to meet surging demand. Independent players like Rogue and Turning Point Brands’ FRE line are gaining traction in retail and online sales, positioning them as logical next targets amid expectations that the market will narrow to just a handful of leading brands. Traders are watching for signals from FDA authorizations, quarterly sales data, and any new partnership announcements that could trigger further deals in the coming quarters.
