Team WaR and Boston Breach meet in a Group B best-of-five at the 2026 Esports World Cup after both squads opened with decisive losses on August 5. Boston Breach, a Call of Duty League roster finishing 10th in the 2026 regular season with players including Afro, Purj, Spart, and TJHaLy, fell 0-3 to 100 Thieves. Team WaR, a Challengers side that reached the 2026 Finals and features Flames, IconZ, Nemensions, and zvik, dropped a 1-3 series to OpTic Gaming. The matchup pits established CDL experience and map pool depth against an amateur roster showing strong recent Challengers form, with prior head-to-head results favoring the pro side in similar settings. Bracket position and map selection will shape the outcome in this double-elimination group stage encounter.
