This market will resolve according to the winner of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad Open Tournament, currently scheduled for September 15, 2026 to September 28, 2026. If this tournament is postponed after October 12, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, canceled, or a winner has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other." If multiple teams are declared winner, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed team name comes first alphabetically. The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, FIDE (https://chessolympiad2026.fide.com/); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Team lineups confirmed in early August for the September 2026 event in Samarkand show the United States edging the average-rating list ahead of defending champions India, host nation Uzbekistan, and China, with all four squads separated by under 40 Elo points on paper. India's board order features Arjun Erigaisi on top board and Gukesh Dommaraju dropped to fourth, while Uzbekistan benefits from home-soil momentum and a reordered lineup that elevates Javokhir Sindarov. The United States fields its strongest available roster without Hikaru Nakamura, creating a narrow but measurable gap over the rest of the field. These small rating differentials, combined with the Swiss-system format and 11 rounds of play, sustain the tight clustering of implied probabilities among the leading nations. Historical team-event volatility and potential late adjustments further support the competitive balance reflected in current market pricing.
