Key Cardinals absences include infielder Ramón Urías (60-day IL, elbow) and reliever Ryan Fernandez (back), while Royals pitching depth has been tested by rotation adjustments. Home-field factors at the Royals' ballpark and potential bullpen usage in a compressed schedule could influence late-game outcomes, as both clubs manage rest ahead of upcoming divisional matchups.
