Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday episodes of ABC World News Tonight command the tightest market-implied odds because each aired amid high-stakes domestic and international developments that typically boost linear news audiences. Monday benefited from dramatic eyewitness accounts of an Idaho shooting and early reports of a parasite outbreak, while Tuesday’s coverage of Michigan’s primary election and record stock highs created sustained viewer interest. Thursday likely drew comparable attention amid ongoing Middle East developments and severe weather. Weekends post far lower odds, consistent with historical patterns of lighter Friday–Sunday news consumption, and Wednesday’s minimal probability reflects the absence of a comparable breaking story. Traders appear to weigh these specific story clusters against typical weekday viewership baselines when assessing which night ultimately led the week.
