Early in the 2026 Big 12 season, the receiving touchdowns race remains tightly contested due to strong returning production across multiple programs and limited sample size after just two weeks. Amare Thomas at Houston has drawn preseason attention following his 12-touchdown 2025 campaign, while players like Gavin Freeman, Nik McMillan, Omarion Miller, Coy Eakin, Jordan Dwyer, and Cam Pickett bring comparable target shares, red-zone usage, and offensive line support on teams with established quarterbacks. Conference parity in passing volume, combined with variable game scripts and injury risks, sustains even implied probabilities near 50 percent for top contenders, reflecting trader recognition that any of several wideouts could emerge depending on target distribution and scoring opportunities.
