Both teams enter the 2026 season with similar profiles after finishing 8-9 in 2025, when the Panthers claimed the NFC South via tiebreakers over Tampa Bay. Early 2026 results show Carolina’s offense clicking behind Bryce Young in a Week 2 rout of Atlanta, while the Buccaneers have dealt with injuries and a narrow Week 2 contest against Cleveland. Key factors include Carolina’s offensive-line injuries to tackles Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton, Tampa Bay’s revamped defense, and the divisional home/away split across late October and late November games. These elements, combined with comparable recent form and roster uncertainty, underpin trader consensus around a 1-1 series outcome over either team sweeping.
