Takuya Kumasaka holds a ranking advantage over Taisei Ichikawa, currently positioned around ATP No. 484 compared to Ichikawa’s No. 794, reflecting stronger recent results on the ITF and Challenger circuits. Both Japanese players compete on home hard courts at the ITF M15 Tokyo event, where familiarity with conditions and travel logistics often levels the field. Their head-to-head stands even at 2-2, though Kumasaka claimed the most recent victory in straight sets during a July 2024 M25 Taipei match. Recent form shows Kumasaka advancing through early rounds with consistent performances, while Ichikawa has mixed results in lower-tier events. Surface preference for hard courts suits both, with no reported injuries or withdrawals altering the draw ahead of their upcoming encounter.
