The Super Chess Classic Romania, a 10-player classical round-robin on the 2026 Grand Chess Tour, remains wide open after three rounds marked by mostly draws and modest leads. Vincent Keymer, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave sit atop the table with strong early form, while Anish Giri’s recent win and Jorden van Foreest’s steady play keep them within striking distance. High FIDE ratings across the field, including Fabiano Caruana and Alireza Firouzja, combined with seven rounds still to play, sustain the bunched probabilities as no single grandmaster has pulled away decisively. Trader consensus reflects this parity, where consistent results and potential upsets in head-to-head matchups can shift momentum rapidly in the remaining schedule.
