Jonny Clayton enters the 2026 New Zealand Darts Masters opener as the heavy favorite against home qualifier Haupai Puha, with his PDC world ranking near fifth, consistent three-dart averages, and proven checkout finishing underpinning the 90.5% implied probability. Recent form highlights include a 2026 World Championship quarterfinal run and strong Premier League nights, while Puha’s early exits at the same event and sparse deep runs against top opposition limit his threat. Prior head-to-head meetings show occasional variance, and local crowd support could aid Puha’s motivation, yet the ranking gap and Clayton’s experience in World Series events create a pronounced edge in the single-elimination format.
