The Chicago Cubs (36-34) enter the June 14 matchup at Oracle Park with the stronger overall record and recent momentum after a 5-1 road win in the series opener, though they remain inconsistent with a 3-7 mark in their last 10 games. The Giants (28-42) trail by 16.5 games in the NL West but benefit from home-field conditions at a pitcher-friendly park and a chance to build on late-inning resilience shown in recent comebacks. Key injuries include Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (day-to-day) and starter Matthew Boyd (15-day IL), while San Francisco deals with absences like Tyler Mahle and Heliot Ramos. Probable pitching matchups, bullpen availability, and the clubs' respective offensive outputs against left- or right-handed starters will heavily influence implied probabilities in this interleague contest.
