James Harden's strong preference for remaining with the Cleveland Cavaliers after his February 2026 trade from the Clippers has anchored trader consensus around a return, reflected in the 97.3% implied probability. The 36-year-old guard declined his $42.3 million player option to pursue a new multiyear contract, with reports confirming ongoing negotiations that provide Cleveland roster flexibility while both sides work toward terms aligned with his production of roughly 20 points and 8 assists per game in limited time last season. Recent Eastern Conference Finals appearance and public statements of intent further reinforce the positioning. Only a breakdown in talks or an unexpected rival offer could realistically shift the outcome before resolution.
