Anton Danko, the long-serving incumbent mayor of Poprad since 2002 and candidate backed by parties including SNS, Smer-SD, and Hlas-SD, holds the strongest position in the October 24, 2026, communal election according to trader assessments. His record of consistent prior victories, including margins above 60 percent in 2022, combined with emphasis on completing infrastructure projects and local council cooperation, underpins the leading implied probability. Independent challengers such as entrepreneurs Jozef Králik and Mikuláš Bobák register lower support amid a field of roughly a dozen candidates, with no recent municipal developments or shifts in local dynamics producing notable movement away from the incumbent's established base ahead of the vote.
